Instructions & Guidelines for Taking the Final Exam Early

REMINDER:

Taking the exam early DOES NOT EXEMPT you from completing the DISCUSSION BOARD ASSIGNMENTS. You are still responsible for signing in and completing posts within the discussion board time frames.

ELIGIBLE for EARLY EXAM?

If you complete all of the Homework's, Quizzes, and Exams at least one week prior to the scheduled day of final exam testing then you may take the Final Exam early. In fact, I encourage students to take the final exam as soon as they can after completing the last Exam in order to prevent lapse of recall in the material.

PLEASE NOTE:

Early Exams are to be taken EARLY - prior to the regularly scheduled date for the exam. Only T&D students are allowed to take the final in the T&D center on the regularly scheduled testing day. ALL exams must be completed by the end of the last regularly scheduled testing period. This includes specially scheduled times for T&D students.

If you are eligible to take the Final Exam early, please follow the steps below exactly.

PROCEDURE DIFFERENCES

Note: The procedure for scheduling an early exam differs for T&D students. Be sure to follow the correct procedure based upon your student status.

 NON Testing & Disability Students

1. FIRST: Send Professor Schmidt an email stating that you believe you are eligible to take the final exam early.

a.       Include your name and course number

b.      If you have not yet completed all of the assignments, Include the time frame in which you believe you will be done with the assignments and officially eligible to take the final exam.

1. 2.       NEXT: AFTER you receive confirmation of your eligibility from me:

a.       Contact the Testing and Disability center on ASU’s campus

        * Set up a time to take the final exam with their office - Be sure to allow a two hour window for the exam setup and completion.

        * Get a confirmation of the date and time for which your exam is scheduled -  Allow three days for the T&D office and I to coordinate the administration of your exam.

1. 3.       THEN: AFTER have scheduled your exam with the T&D Center

a.  Send me an email with the following information

        *  Your full name

        *  Which Econ course you are taking

        *  The date and time of your appointment with the T&D center

1. 3.       FINALLY: Show up at the T&D center on the day of your scheduled exam time. Do not be late.

a.       The T&D Center will have the exam administration instructions and your exam password.

b.      Review the ‘Final Exam Information’ webpage on my website for Final Exam details.

Testing & Disability Students
