  1. Use the Screen Shot function within your software (Snipping Tool is available for free on most Windows based PC's) OR

  2. Use the Print Screen Key to take a picture of your screen and then paste into Paint as a JPEG (an accessory software on all computers)

  3. Attach file and email to bschmidt@gru.edu

REMOTE CONTROL SCREENS
Invite Professor Schmidt to
Remote In to your Machine and see if she can do it!

Once I remote into your machine, I will be able to operate your computer from my keyboard.

  • The student and I must both be online at the same time

  • The student must 'invite me' into their computer. This is referred to as 'remote assistance'

  • You can look up the specific instructions for your computer but most are similar to Windows 7. Sample instructions can be found here: http://www.ehow.com/how_8165168_send-assistance-invitations-windows-7.html

  • HAVE A MAC?

  • Email me a few times that will work for you and I will respond with a time that works with my schedule.

  • Email me the invitation link a few hours before our scheduled time.

  • Be sure to boot your computer and get online at least 15 minutes prior to our appointment time.

  • You must use the same computer that you used to create the invitation

  • You will need a strong, reliable internet connection

  • If you are having difficulty or if it does appear that I show - TEXT, CALL, or EMAIL me....I May be having trouble with the emailed link.

  2. Create an account (be sure to do the Free one)

  3. Watch the introduction Video

  4. Contact Professor Schmidt for a meeting time (If meeting is for a study group be sure all members are available at each of the requested times.)

 

 

LAB CHAT

We will use chat feature within MyITLab or D2L

1) Email me a few times that work for you;

2) I will confirm the one that works best with my schedule

 

Lab Chat Process:

  1. Receive Date/Time from Prof Schmidt (see above)

  2. Log into Online Lab

  3. Click Communication

  4. Click Chat

  5. Click Current Dated Event

  6. Install Java if prompted

  7. Click the icon that appears - do not close window

  8. Type "Hello" or a question to alert your presence

  9. Converse with the Professor in Real Time.

 

SKYPE MEETING

See and Talk with Professor Schmidt via Skype!

  1. Go to www.skype.com

  2. Register (Click Get Skype) and follow instructions provided

  3. -If you register you will need to download and install the Free Skype Software.

  4. -You do not have to have a webcam to use Skype - a skype session can be voice only!

  5. Once you have registered, exit the browser and locate the installed Skype program on your computer and open it.

  6. Click Add a contact and typeGRUProfessorSchmidt in the Skype Name box to search for me

  7. When my name and city pop up, Click Add

  8. Edit the message box so that I know you are a student

  9. Click Send Request

  10. Contact Professor Schmidt for a meeting time if you have not already done so. (Email me a few times and wait for my response)
