MINF 2201: Getting Started in MyITLab

IMPORTANT:  Before working in MyITLab, be sure to do the following:

Video demonstrations for many tasks are available on my "MyITLab How-To Videos" webpage!

STEP 1: Check your System Requirements / Set Up MyITLab

Under the Start Here tab in the lab as Getting Started (Set Up MyITLab)

Visit Setup MyITlab on your computer webpage to verify that your personal computer meets the following requirements:

  • Operating Systems
  • Browsers
  • Browser Settings

After ensuring you are running or have downloaded/installed the required version of operating systems, browsers, etc. you may launch MyITLab and sign in at www.myitlab.com.

STEP 2: Download MS Office 2016

Provided at No Charge by AU. Link with directions is under Start Here tab in the lab.

STEP 3:

Read “Begin Assignments”

Assignments may be found in the Lab Assignment Calendar, To Do List, or in the related Course Materials folder where you will also find additional course resources. (lab only)

Assignments deadlines are best viewed on the Assignment calendar (website and lab)

Student Resources include video's, powerpoints, simulations trainers, and the professor.

Read “Making Sense of the Lab”.

This will help to familiarize you with the lab before beginning assignments.

Read ALL of the Lab Announcements.

Read "Tips & Tricks"

I suggest going over all of the tips and tricks on my MyITLab Tips & Tricks webpage for hints about known trouble spots BEFORE you run into trouble.

Remember: Review Submissions

Use the Review Submissions option to understand the steps you missed and make corrections before utilizing the 2nd attempt.

Remember: Multiple Attemps and Deadline Policies

All Assignments allow at least 2 submissions.

Submit your 1st attempt well before the deadline - in order to allow time for correction, assistance, and resubmission!
