MANDATORY ORIENTATION for your ECONOMICS COURSE
There
is not an Orientation Session for Summer 2012:
EVERYONE must download and review the Orientation Document available on
my website
The
Orientation Document should provide the following:

Overall course preview
·
Overall course expectations, process, and guidelines including
course requirements
·
Syllabus, course assignments, and grade evaluation
explanation
·
How to register in the online course including
required dates for registration to avoid being dropped from the course
·
Demonstration of online course software including detailed
explanations of all assignments within the course software
·
Preview of the Final Exam and how to prepare for and
register for the final exam
·
How to contact the instructor both within the software and
regularly.
Online Orientation Document and Continued Enrollment in the Economics
Course:
All
students are required to review the document and pass an orientation
quiz (once registered in Pearson Lab).
The
Document is titled 'Online Orientation Document (required) and is
available on the SSOL-ONLINE homepage.
1.
Review the required Online Orientation Document
2.
Obtain your Course ID from a Welcome email from the professor
3.
Register in the Pearson Lab environment. (you will need the
course ID and a Pearson Access code that comes with your textbook)
a. NO
EXCEPTIONS will be made for late registrants.
b.
This semesters deadline is midnight on ___
___.
c.
PLEASE NOTE: That the two assignments are
due the first week of class
***Thus, it is possible to register in the Pearson Lab environment
and already have missed assignments resulting in ZERO's***
4.
Complete the Orientation Quiz within the online software environment
with a score of 90% or greater.
a. ONLY at this point are you ensured to
NOT BE DROPPED FROM THE COURSE.
5.
Begin regular course work.
*Please
note: This option requires no one-on-one contact with the professor.
While it may be convenient it can also be difficult to ascertain all of
the information one desires concerning an online course such as the one
on which you are embarking. Thus, It is imperative that
you read everything within the syllabus, orientation documents, and my
website in order to be properly prepared for the course.
**Please
also remember once the attendance grace period has passed the student
will receive a grade earned (A, B, C, D, or F) in the course unless the
student completes the paperwork and withdraws from the course prior to
midterm. I do not complete paperwork for students under any
circumstance!
