State Leadership Conference 2014

Atlanta, GA

April 2014

 Nine students from Georgia Regents University’s Hull College of Business came away with fifteen awards in competitions at the 2014 Phi Beta Lambda Georgia State Leadership Conference held in Atlanta April 11-13. These included eight students who did well enough to qualify to compete against the best business students nationally at the National Leadership Conference coming up in Nashville, TN, this June in the following events:

·         Erica Clemmons: Business Presentation

·         Michael Fowler: Financial Services, Personal Finance

·         Richard Gamble: Business Presentation

·         Austin Hixenbaugh: Information Management

·         Candida Moyer: Accounting for Professionals, Accounting Analysis & Decision Making

·         Daniel Padilla: Contemporary Sports Issues, Sports Management and Marketing

·         LeRoy Ramsey: Computer Concepts

·         Stan Swinford: Information Management

Phi Beta Lambda -- or PBL -- is the university extension of Future Business Leaders of America and the combined FBLA-PBL has as its mission "... to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs." PBL crosses all business disciplines (accounting, management, marketing, finance, economics, information systems) and local university chapters participate in service, education, and leadership activities. Each spring's State Leadership Conference is a highlight of the year with a significant focus being subject area competitions against participants from across the state. Students earn the opportunity to compete nationally in up to two events by being active chapter members and finishing at the top in the respective state events.
