Principles of Chemistry II Lab

Summer 2017

 

Announcements:

 

 

●You are always be required to comply with the dress code and have all appropriate materials.

          Remember that students who are not prepared will not be allowed to participate in lab.  This includes:

Appropriate dress:  Lab coat, long pants, shoes that cover entire foot (no skin below the waist and/or wrists should be visible) and safety glasses or goggles.

          Appropriate materials: Printout of the lab (below), lab notebook with duplicate pages, pen, calculator.

          Completion of Prelab assignment

 

 

          Do not forget to do the Prelab.   Students who do not do the prelab will receive a zero for the entire experiment.   (So don’t even bother to show up…)

 

Prelab:

No required prelab for August 1.  However, you will save yourself a lot of time if you do the prelab questions in the lab handout before lab.   You could also write your purpose statement…

 

 

Failure to complete the prelab will result in a zero for the entire experiment.

            Many prelabs will require watching a video on Edpuzzle.  Sign up now.  Be sure to use your actual first and last names and augusta.edu address.  If I cannot easily identify who a student is, that student will be deleted.

Lab:

       Click on link with the date to obtain the lab handout.  Print handout, read it, bring it to lab.  Lab handouts will not be available in lab

 

         1 August

 

Final Project:

        You will do the experiment July 24 and 25. 

        Your report is due August 1 at 11 am. You may turn it in early. 

Prelab lecture on the 24th will be about the experiment.  Prelab lecture on the 25th will be about the report.

Experiment and Report is worth 20% of your grade for this course.

                10% is from the overall grade of the report

                10% is from the part you are responsible for
